How we work / Your project, considered at every stage

From your idea. To something beautifully real.

A ceramic object begins with a conversation. We develop ceramic, porcelain and stoneware projects with hotels, restaurants, retailers and brands — connecting your design intent to a clear path through sampling, production and delivery.

Mold development inside the Terralora atelier
01 — 09An idea, thoughtfully made.
  1. Open the conversation

Tell us what you want to create: a tableware range, a sculptural object, a retail collection or a specialist ceramic product. Contact the atelier or send a project brief to begin.

Your starting point: an idea, photograph, sketch or sample.
  2. Define the project together

We review materials, dimensions, quantities, finish, branding, intended use, destination and timing. Technical feasibility, quotation scope and the approval stages are agreed before work proceeds.

A shared brief, with the important details in writing.
  3. Explore and approve the sample

Sample work translates the brief into a physical reference. We review the form, feel, glaze and branding with you, refine the agreed details and establish the production reference.

A sample you can review before committing to the full run.

  4. Prepare the production molds

We develop or adapt the tooling required for repeatable production. Some sample forms need preliminary molds; final production molds follow the approved design and the agreed manufacturing route.

Form, dimensions and tooling aligned with the approved reference.
  5. Make it, with you in the loop

Forming, drying, firing, glazing and finishing follow the confirmed production plan. We stay in contact throughout the project, sharing agreed progress updates and discussing decisions with you as the work develops.

One atelier relationship from the first sample to the final batch.

  6. Check the finished pieces

The production run is checked against the approved specification: form, dimensions, finish, glaze, branding and relevant functional details. Project-specific inspection and documentation requirements are agreed in advance.

Quality control before the order is released for packing.
  7. Pack for the product and the journey

We prepare protective packaging for ceramic transport. If your project needs bespoke boxes, inserts, labels or branded presentation, our team develops and prepares the agreed packaging as part of the order.

Protection outside. A considered presentation inside.

  8. Prepare documents and customs

We manage customs arrangements for the agreed shipment. If you prefer your own customs company, we coordinate with it. Requested documentation and any testing or certification scope are confirmed for the product and destination.

Responsibilities, documentation and shipment terms agreed before dispatch.
  9. Hand over and follow through

After secure packing, the shipment is handed to the agreed carrier. We share the available dispatch and tracking information and remain your contact as the order makes its way to you.

A clear handover and a direct point of contact.

The commitments around the craft

Your design. Your confidence. Our care.

Confidential by design

Your project is handled confidentially. Customer designs remain the customer’s property. We agree confidentiality arrangements before sensitive files are shared and handle project information according to the agreed terms.

Documentation when you need it

Tell us which documents your market or buyer requires. We arrange the agreed documentation and, where requested, coordinate the applicable testing or certification process. Scope, timing and costs are confirmed before production.

Packaging that belongs to your brand

Custom retail boxes, protective inserts, labels and carton presentation can be developed and prepared by our team. Artwork, dimensions and packaging approval form part of the project brief.

Customs arranged around your project

We manage the agreed customs process and shipment coordination, or work with your nominated customs company. The quote specifies the delivery terms and how duties, taxes and destination requirements are handled.

Before we begin

A few useful answers.

Ask us a question ↗
What do you need to start a custom ceramic project?

Send a short description, reference images or sketches, approximate dimensions, quantity, material preference, destination and desired timing. Technical drawings are helpful, but a clear idea is enough to start the discussion.

Can you manufacture porcelain and stoneware as well as ceramics?

Yes. We evaluate ceramic, porcelain and stoneware projects against the intended use, form, finish and quantity. The material and production route are confirmed during the feasibility review.

How long will a custom project take?

Samples can often be completed within 15 business days; mold development generally takes a similar period. Simpler projects may move faster. We agree the sequence and approval points for your project before confirming the bulk-production schedule.

Who owns the custom design?

Customer designs remain the customer’s property. Confidentiality and any project-specific rights, tooling arrangements or usage permissions are documented in the agreed project terms.

Can we use our own customs company?

Yes. You can appoint your own customs company, and we coordinate the shipment documentation and handover requirements with it.

Project timing

Sampling, molds and production have their own schedules.

Sample production

Samples can often be completed within 15 business days, depending on the project; some are ready sooner.

Mold development

Mold development generally takes a similar period of around 15 business days, depending on the form and complexity.

Bulk production

We confirm the production schedule after reviewing quantity, approved samples, material, glaze, packaging and the required delivery date.

These stages may overlap or follow one another. We agree their starting points and the full project timeline with you; sampling time is not the total delivery time.
