Sampling Before Bulk Ceramic Production
Sampling gives both buyer and manufacturer a physical reference for the parts of the project that cannot be fully judged from a screen: ceramic proportion, glaze, logo scale and packaging fit.
When a sample is most useful
Samples are especially valuable for new glaze directions, branding, size changes, new forms and retail packaging. A repeat production of an approved specification may need a different approval approach.
What to approve
Check dimensions, weight, surface, glaze direction, logo placement, color, readability, assembly where applicable and the packing presentation. Write down the approved reference.
Move from sample to production
Once the sample or production standard is approved, the bulk run should follow the agreed specification and QC points. Any requested change after approval should be reviewed for schedule and cost impact before production continues.
