From Product Idea to Custom Ceramic Production
A custom ceramic product does not need to begin as a finished technical drawing. A useful development brief can start with the problem to solve, a reference, approximate dimensions, target quantity and brand direction.
1. Describe what the product should do
Share the intended use, approximate dimensions or capacity, target market, reference photos or samples, and the quantity you expect. This gives the workshop enough context to judge whether the idea is suitable for ceramic production.
2. Define form, mold and approval steps
If a new form is required, the development route may include a working form, mold preparation, dimensional refinement, glaze and branding decisions, followed by a sample or written approval before bulk production.
3. Turn the approved product into a repeatable program
Once the product, glaze, branding and packaging are approved, the confirmed specification becomes the production reference for QC, repeat orders and shipment preparation.
